States that the Congress supports the determination of the President to take measures to: (1) ensure the unimpeded flow of commercial traffic through the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz; and (2) repel any armed attack against U.S. naval forces in or outside the Persian Gulf.
States that it should be the policy of the United States to take diplomatic and economic measures to support a ceasefire in, and encourage a negotiated solution to, the Iran-Iraq war.
