IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES February 25, 1992 Mr. IRELAND introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services A BILL To amend title 10, United States Code, to reinstate the requirement that a competitive prototype program strategy be used in the development of a major weapons system. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. REINSTATEMENT OF REQUIREMENT FOR USE OF COMPETITIVE PROTOTYPE PROGRAM STRATEGY IN DEVELOPMENT OF MAJOR WEAPONS SYSTEM. (a) IN GENERAL- Subsection (e) of section 2365 of title 10, United States Code, is repealed. (b) EFFECTIVE DATE- Section 2365 of title 10, United States Code, as amended by subsection (a), shall apply to major weapons systems that enter the advanced development stage after the date of the enactment of this Act.
