A BILL
To provide for the disposal of certain surplus real property located at
Fort Ord, California.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. CONVEYANCE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY AT FORT ORD, CALIFORNIA.
(a) Conveyance.--The Secretary of Defense shall grant options for
the conveyance, without reimbursement, to the University of California
and the California State University of all right, title, and interest
of the United States in and to those parcels of real property described
in subsection (b) including appropriate atmospheric, land and water
rights, infrastructure and improvements thereon, which are located at
Ford Ord, California. Each option granted under this subsection shall
be exercisable without regard to any other such options. The Secretary
shall not impose as part of the conveyance under this subsection any
condition or restriction on the use of the conveyed real property by
the recipients.
(b) Description.--The exact acreage and legal descriptions of the
parcels to be conveyed under subsection (a) shall either--
(1) substantially conform to the description of the land
and facilities requested in the Educational Public Benefit
Transfer Applications submitted by the University of California
and the California State University with regard to Fort Ord on
or before March 8, 1993, as supplemented or amended through
September 30, 1993; or
(2) consist of such alternative parcels as shall, after
negotiation, be mutually acceptable to the Secretary and the
recipient institutions.
