Child Prostitution and Sexual Abuse Prevention Act of 1993 - Amends the Federal criminal code to impose penalties upon U.S. citizens or resident aliens who travel in interstate or foreign commerce, or conspire to do so, for the purpose of engaging in any sexual act with a person under age 18 which would be in violation of Federal sexual abuse provisions if such act occurred in the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.

A BILL
To amend title 18, with respect to travel for illegal sexual
activities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Child Prostitution and Sexual Abuse
Prevention Act of 1993''.
SEC. 2. TRAVEL FOR ILLEGAL SEXUAL ACTIVITIES.
Section 2423 of title 18, United States Code, is amended--
(1) by inserting ``(a)'' before ``Whoever''; and
(2) by adding at the end the following:
``(b) Whoever, being a United States citizen or resident alien,
travels in interstate or foreign commerce, or conspires to do so, for
the purpose of engaging in any sexual act (as the term `sexual act' is
defined in section 2245 of this title) with a person under 18 years of
age, which would be in violation of chapter 109A of this title if such
sexual act occurred in the special maritime and territorial
jurisdiction of the United States;
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 10 years,
or both.''.
