A BILL
To amend part Q of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of
1968 to reduce the local matching amount to ensure more local
communities can qualify for a grant to hire additional police officers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Cops MORE Affordable Program Act''.
SEC. 2. REDUCTION IN MATCHING REQUIREMENT.
Section 1701(i) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe
Streets Act of 1968 is amended by striking ``25'' and inserting ``10''.
