A BILL
To amend the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act
to prohibit pelagic longline fishing in the exclusive economic zone in
the Atlantic Ocean.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. PROHIBITION ON PELAGIC LONGLINE FISHING IN THE EXCLUSIVE
ECONOMIC ZONE IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN.
Section 307 of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and
Management Act (16 U.S.C. 1857) is amended--
(1) in paragraph (1)--
(A) in subparagraph (N) by striking ``or'' after
the semicolon at the end;
(B) in subparagraph (O) by striking the period and
inserting ``; or''; and
(C) by adding at the end the following:
``(P) to engage in pelagic longline fishing in the
exclusive economic zone in the Atlantic Ocean;''.
