To reauthorize the Southwestern Pennsylvania Heritage Preservation Commission, and for other purposes.

Amends the Act establishing the Southwestern Pennsylvania Heritage Preservation Commission to extend: (1) by ten years the Commission's authority to make certain loans and grants; and (2) the Commission through FY 2010.

  To reauthorize the Southwestern Pennsylvania Heritage Preservation 
                  Commission, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. COMMISSION EXTENDED TO TWENTY YEARS.

    Section 104 of the Act entitled ``An Act to establish in the 
Department of the Interior the Southwestern Pennsylvania Heritage 
Preservation Commission, and for other purposes'', approved November 
19, 1988 (Public Law 100-698) is amended--
            (1) in the flush material at the end of subsection (a), by 
        striking ``10 years'' and inserting ``20 years''; and
            (2) in subsection (e), by striking ``10 years'' and 
        inserting ``20 years''.

SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.

    Section 105 of the Act entitled ``An Act to establish in the 
Department of the Interior the Southwestern Pennsylvania Heritage 
Preservation Commission, and for other purposes'', approved November 
19, 1988 (Public Law 100-698) is amended by inserting ``for each of 
fiscal years 2001 through 2010'' after ``$3,000,000''.

SEC. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.

    The amendment made by section 1 shall be deemed to have taken 
effect on November 18, 1998.
