Davis-Bacon Modernization Act

Davis-Bacon Modernization Act - Amends the Davis-Bacon Act to increase, from $2,000 to $100,000, the minimum contract amount required to trigger coverage under such Act (which requires that the locally prevailing wage rate be paid to various classes of laborers and mechanics working under federally-financed or federally-assisted contracts for construction, alteration, and repair of public buildings or public works).

  To amend the Act of March 3, 1931 (known as the Davis-Bacon Act) to 
           increase the contract amount specified in the Act.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Davis-Bacon Modernization Act''.

SEC. 2. INCREASE IN CONTRACT AMOUNT.

    Subsection (a) of the first section of the Act of March 3, 1931 
(known as the Davis-Bacon Act) is amended by striking ``$2,000'' and 
inserting ``$100,000''.
