A BILL
To provide clarification regarding the market name for the fish
Pangasius bocourti and compliance with section 403 of the Federal Food,
Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled, That the term
``catfish'' may not be considered to be a common or usual name (or part
thereof) for the fish Pangasius bocourti, or for any other fish not
classified within the family Ictalariidae, for purposes of section 403
of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, including with respect to
the importation of such fish pursuant to section 801 of such Act.
