A BILL
To amend the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act
of 2000 to clarify the treatment of title III project funds reserved by
counties under such Act for purposes of disbursements under chapter 69
of title 31, United States Code.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. TREATMENT OF TITLE III PROJECT FUNDS RESERVED BY COUNTIES
UNDER SECURE RURAL SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY SELF-
DETERMINATION ACT OF 2000.
(a) National Forest System Lands Payments.--Section 102(d)(2)(B) of
the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000
(Public Law 106-393; 16 U.S.C. 500 note) is amended by adding at the
end the following new sentence: ``Notwithstanding section 6903(a)(1)(C)
of title 31, United States Code, the funds so reserved shall not be
treated as amounts received by the eligible county under a payment law
for purposes of calculating payments for that county under chapter 69
of such title.''.
(b) Bureau of Land Management Lands Payments.--Section 103(c)(2)(B)
of such Act is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence:
``Notwithstanding section 6903(a)(1)(C) of title 31, United States
Code, the funds so reserved shall not be treated as amounts received by
the eligible county under a payment law for purposes of calculating
payments for that county under chapter 69 of such title.''.
