A BILL
To extend the national flood insurance program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXTENSION OF NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM.
(a) Borrowing Authority.--Section 1309(a)(2) of the National Flood
Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4016(a)(2)) is amended by striking
``December 31, 2002'' and inserting ``December 31, 2004''.
(b) Authority to Write Policies.--Section 1319 of the National
Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4026) is amended by striking
``after'' and all that follows through the period at the end and
inserting ``after December 31, 2004.''.
(c) Emergency Implementation of Program.--Section 1336(a) of the
National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4056(a)) is amended by
striking ``ending'' and all that follows through ``in'' and inserting
``ending December 31, 2004, in''.
(d) Authorization of Appropriations for Studies.--Section 1376(c)
of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 4127) is amended
by striking ``December 31, 2002'' and inserting ``December 31, 2004''.
