A BILL
To reauthorize the supplemental grant for population increases in
certain states under the temporary assistance to needy families program
for fiscal year 2002.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``TANF Supplemental Grants Act of
2001''.
SEC. 2. REAUTHORIZATION OF TANF SUPPLEMENTAL GRANTS FOR POPULATION
INCREASES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002.
Section 403(a)(3) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 603(a)(3))
is amended--
(1) in subparagraph (A)(ii), by striking ``and 2001,'' and
inserting ``2001, and 2002,'';
(2) in subparagraph (C)(iii), by striking ``and 2001'' and
inserting ``2001, and 2002''; and
(3) in subparagraph (E)--
(A) by striking ``appropriated for'' and inserting
``appropriated--
``(i) for'';
(B) by striking the period and inserting ``; and'';
(C) by adding at the end the following:
``(ii) for fiscal year 2002, such sums as
are necessary for grants under this
paragraph.''; and
(D) in subparagraph (G), by striking ``2001'' and
inserting ``2002''.
