bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

A BILL
To amend the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 to
prohibit the selection for closure or adverse realignment under such
law any military installation used for undergraduate pilot training.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXEMPTION OF CERTAIN PILOT-TRAINING BASES FROM 2005 BASE
CLOSURE ROUND.
Section 2914(b) of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of
1990, as added by section 3003 of the National Defense Authorization
Act for Fiscal Year 2002 (Public Law 107-107; 115 Stat. 1345), is
amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:
``(3) Exemption of undergraduate pilot-training bases.--The
recommendations of the Secretary and the recommendations of the
Commission regarding the closure or adverse realignment of
military installations may not include any military
installation used for undergraduate pilot training.''.
