A BILL
To amend title 37, United States Code, to remove the prohibition on the
ability of qualified dental officers in the uniformed services to
receive additional special pay while undergoing dental internship or
residency training.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Dental Officer Retention Act''.
SEC. 2. REPEAL OF LIMITATION ON RECEIPT OF SPECIAL PAY BY DENTAL
OFFICERS.
Section 302b of title 37, United States Code, is amended--
(1) in subsection (a)(4), by striking ``for any 12-month
period during which the officer is not undergoing dental
internship or residency training. Such additional special pay
shall be paid''; and
(2) in subsection (b)(1), by striking ``for any 12-month
period''.
