Provides for an adjournment sine die of: (1) the House of Representatives on any legislative day from December 18-December 24, 2005, or from December 26-December 31, 2005 (or until another time of reassembly under this concurrent resolution); and (2) the Senate on any day from December 19-December 24, 2005, or from December 26-December 31, 2005 (or until another time of reassembly).
Provides that when: (1) the House adjourns on any legislative day of the second session of the 109th Congress from January 3-January 28, 2006, it stand adjourned until January 31, 2006 (or until another time of reassembly under this concurrent resolution, whichever occurs first); (2) the Senate recesses or adjourns on any day of the second session of the 109th Congress from January 3-January 16, 2006, it stand recessed or adjourned until January 18, 2006, or until such day and time as may be specified by its Majority Leader or his designee (or until another time of reassembly, whichever occurs first); and (3) the Senate recesses or adjourns on any day from January 20-January 28, 2006, it stand recessed or adjourned until January 31, 2006, or until such day and time as may be specified by its Majority Leader or his designee (or until another time of reassembly, whichever occurs first).
Authorizes the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the Senate, or their respective designees, acting jointly after consultation with the Minority Leaders of the House and of the Senate, to notify the Members of the House and the Senate, respectively, to reassemble at such place and time as they may designate whenever, in their opinion, the public interest shall warrant it.

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Providing for the sine die adjournment of the first session of the One
Hundred Ninth Congress.
Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring),
That when the House adjourns on any legislative day from Sunday,
December 18, 2005, through Saturday, December 24, 2005, or from Monday,
December 26, 2005, through Saturday, December 31, 2005, on a motion
offered pursuant to this concurrent resolution by its Majority Leader
or his designee, it stand adjourned sine die or until the time of any
reassembly pursuant to section 3 of this concurrent resolution; and
when the Senate adjourns on any day from Monday, December 19, 2005,
through Saturday, December 24, 2005, or from Monday, December 26, 2005,
through Saturday, December 31, 2005, on a motion offered pursuant to
this concurrent resolution by its Majority Leader or his designee, it
stand adjourned sine die or until the time of any reassembly pursuant
to section 3 of this concurrent resolution.
Sec. 2. When the House adjourns on any legislative day of the
second session of the One Hundred Ninth Congress from Tuesday, January
3, 2006, through Saturday, January 28, 2006, on a motion offered
pursuant to this concurrent resolution by its Majority Leader or his
designee, it shall stand adjourned until noon on Tuesday, January 31,
2006, or until the time of any reassembly pursuant to section 3 of this
concurrent resolution, whichever occurs first; when the Senate recesses
or adjourns on any day of the second session of the One Hundred Ninth
Congress from Tuesday, January 3, 2006, through Monday, January 16,
2006, on a motion offered pursuant to this concurrent resolution by its
Majority Leader or his designee, it shall stand recessed or adjourned
until noon on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, or until such other time on
that day as may be specified by its Majority Leader or his designee in
the motion to recess or adjourn, or until the time of any reassembly
pursuant to section 3 of this concurrent resolution, whichever occurs
first; and when the Senate recesses or adjourns on any day from Friday,
January 20, 2006, through Saturday, January 28, 2006, on a motion
offered pursuant to this concurrent resolution by its Majority Leader
or his designee, it shall stand recessed or adjourned until noon on
Tuesday, January 31, 2006, or until such other time on that day as may
be specified by its Majority Leader or his designee in the motion to
recess or adjourn, or until the time of any reassembly pursuant to
section 3 of this concurrent resolution, whichever occurs first.
Sec. 3. The Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the
Senate, or their respective designees, acting jointly after
consultation with the Minority Leader of the House and the Minority
Leader of the Senate, shall notify the Members of the House and the
Senate, respectively, to reassemble at such place and time as they may
designate if, in their opinion, the public interest shall warrant it.
