Internet Consumer Protection Act of 2005

Internet Consumer Protection Act of 2005 - Amends the Internet Tax Freedom Act to make permanent the ban on State taxation of Internet access and on multiple or discriminatory taxes on electronic commerce.

Repeals provisions permitting States with Internet tax laws enacted prior to the ban on Internet taxes to continue enforcing such laws.

To amend the Internet Tax Freedom Act to make permanent the moratorium 
 on certain taxes relating to the Internet and to electronic commerce.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Internet Consumer Protection Act of 
2005''.

SEC. 2. AMENDMENTS TO THE INTERNET TAX FREEDOM ACT.

    The Internet Tax Freedom Act (47 U.S.C. 151 note) is amended--
            (1) in section 1101(a) by striking ``during the period 
        beginning November 1, 2003, and ending November 1, 2007'', and
            (2) by striking section 1104.
