Amends the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States to suspend, through December 31, 2008, the duty on static converters (rectifiers) capable of converting 300 V direct current to 12 V direct current (converter asy), designed for use in certain hybrid motor vehicles.

A BILL
To suspend temporarily the duty on converter asy.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. CONVERTER ASY.
(a) In General.--Subchapter II of chapter 99 of the Harmonized
Tariff Schedule of the United States is amended by inserting in
numerical sequence the following new heading:
`` 9902.85.01 Static converters Free No change No change On or before 12/ ''.

(b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) applies
