A BILL
To remove the permanent tariff and the temporary duty on ethanol.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Ethanol Import Fairness Act''.
SEC. 2. ELIMINATION OF ETHANOL TARIFF AND DUTY.
(a) Elimination of Permanent Tariff of 2.5 Percent.--Subheading
2207.10.60 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States is
amended--
(1) by striking the column 1 general rate of duty and
inserting ``Free''; and
(2) by striking the matter contained in the column 1
special rate of duty column and inserting ``Free''.
(b) Repeal of Temporary Duty of 54 Cents Per Gallon.--Subchapter I
of chapter 99 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States is
amended--
(1) by striking heading 9901.00.50; and
(2) by striking U.S. Note 2.
(c) Effective Date.--The amendments made by this section apply with
respect to goods entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption,
on or after the 15th day after the date of the enactment of this Act.
