Iran Sanctions Extension Act of 2006

Iran Sanctions Extension Act of 2006 - Amends the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act of 1996 to extend the authorities under such Act with respect to Iran. (Sanctions under such Act no longer apply to Libya pursuant to Presidential Determination 2004-30, April 23, 2004.)

           To extend the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act of 1996

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Iran Sanctions Extension Act of 
2006''.

SEC. 2. EXTENSION OF AUTHORITIES REGARDING SANCTIONS ON IRAN.

    Section 13(b) of the Iran and Libya Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public 
Law 104-172; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note) is amended by striking ``10 years'' 
and inserting ``15 years''.
