A BILL
To increase funding for the program of block grants to States for
social services.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Aiding Social Services in States
Temporarily Act of 2008''.
SEC. 2. INCREASE IN FUNDING FOR THE SOCIAL SERVICES BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM.
Section 2003(c) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1397b(c)) is
amended--
(1) in paragraph (10), by striking ``and'';
(2) in paragraph (11), by striking the period and inserting
``other than fiscal year 2008; and''; and
(3) by adding at the end the following:
``(12) $3,700,000,000 for the fiscal year 2008.''.
