FTC Commissioner Parity Act
This bill prohibits commissioners of Federal Trade Commission from continuing to serve after the expiration of their terms. Under current law, commissioners continue to serve until a successor is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.

A BILL
To prohibit a commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission from
continuing in office after the expiration of the term of office of the
commissioner, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``FTC Commissioner Parity Act''.
SEC. 2. PROHIBITION.
The first section of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C.
41) is amended--
(1) by striking ``: Provided, however,'' and all that
follows through ``shall have qualified.''; and
(2) by inserting ``and that a commissioner may not continue
to serve after the expiration of the term of office for which
the commissioner was appointed'' after ``shall succeed''.
