This bill reauthorizes through FY2029 the Lifespan Respite Care Program, which supports the provision of community-based respite care services for family caregivers of children or adults with special needs. (Respite care is planned or emergency care that is provided to children or adults with special needs so as to temporarily relieve the family caregiver.)

A BILL
To amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize a lifespan
respite care program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. REAUTHORIZATION OF LIFESPAN RESPITE CARE PROGRAM.
Section 2905 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300ii-4)
is amended by striking ``fiscal years 2020 through fiscal year 2024''
and inserting ``fiscal years 2024 through 2028''.
