the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed
Services, and in addition to the Committee on Education and the
Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker,
in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the
jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL
To extend the requirement to staff Department of Defense Education
Activity schools to maintain maximum student-to-teacher ratios.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Success for Military Connected
Students Act of 2023''.
SEC. 2. STAFFING OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE EDUCATION ACTIVITY SCHOOLS TO
MAINTAIN MAXIMUM STUDENT-TO-TEACHER RATIOS.
Section 589B(c) of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense
Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (Public Law 116-283; 134 Stat.
3659) is amended by striking ``2023-2024 academic year'' and inserting
``2029-2030 academic year''.
