To require the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human 
  Services to investigate Head Start facilities that fail to produce 
                their annual audits as required by law.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Head Start Accountability Act of 
2024''.

SEC. 2. REQUIRED INVESTIGATION OF CERTAIN HEAD START FACILITIES.

    Beginning in 2024, the Inspector General of the Department of 
Health and Human Services shall investigate Head Start facilities that 
fail to produce their annual audits as required by law.
