 Kamlager-Dove, and Ms. McClellan) submitted the following resolution; 
          which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

                               RESOLUTION


 
   Recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Ms. Foundation for Women.

Whereas Ms. Foundation for Women was founded in 1973 by Gloria Steinem, Patricia 
        Cabrine, Letty Cottin Pogrebin, and Marlo Thomas, becoming the first 
        national public foundation to focus on elevating issues that impact 
        women and girls as well as the national model for sustainable, trust-
        based philanthropic support of women-led movements;
Whereas the mission is to build women's collective power to realize a Nation of 
        equality and justice for all, and the Ms. Foundation works to bring 
        attention to the real challenges facing women and nonbinary people of 
        color;
Whereas Ms. Foundation values integrity, trust and respect, interconnectedness, 
        and social justice; believes power and possibility are not limited by 
        gender, race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or 
        age; and maintains that freedom and equality are the cornerstones of a 
        true democracy;
Whereas by centering the voices and experiences of women and girls of color and 
        working to dismantle structural barriers to equal opportunity based on 
        race and gender, Ms. Foundation ensures collective power and access to 
        achieve gender and racial equality for all;
Whereas Ms. Foundation achieves its mission by investing in and strengthening 
        the capacity of women of color-led movements to advance meaningful 
        social, cultural, and economic change and advocating for national and 
        statewide policy changes;
Whereas, since 1973, the Ms. Foundation has invested over $90,000,000 in more 
        than 1,600 organizations fighting for gender and racial justice 
        nationwide;
Whereas the Ms. South strategy has moved over $1,000,000 to 13 States in the 
        southern United States;
Whereas Ms. Foundation received the Presidential Award for Excellence in 1999 to 
        recognize the success of the Collaborative Fund for Women and Economic 
        Development, which leveraged over $12,000,000 in support of grassroots 
        women's organizations to promote women's economic security;
Whereas the Girls of Color Initiative has provided more than $1,000,000 to 70 
        grantee partners centering cisgender, transgender, and queer girls of 
        color nationwide;
Whereas through its capacity-building work, Ms. Foundation has invested more 
        than $1,400,000 to provide over 300 engagements in leadership training, 
        coaching, and financial management;
Whereas because empowerment of young girls is core to its vision, Ms. Foundation 
        created Take Our Daughters to Work Day, now more widely known as Take 
        Your Child To Work Day, which has become one of the most successful 
        national public education campaigns ever launched and now has 35,000,000 
        participants each year;
Whereas Ms. Foundation has expanded its commitment to achieving true 
        reproductive justice through its investments in organizations working at 
        the local, State, and national levels to ensure all people have access 
        to the full range of reproductive health care and the freedom to choose 
        if and when to parent; and
Whereas, on May 16, 2023, Ms. Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary at its 
        annual Women of Vision Awards in New York City, New York: Now, 
        therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Ms. Foundation 
        for Women;
            (2) commends Teresa Younger, the President and CEO of the 
        Ms. Foundation, for her leadership and the continued growth and 
        success of the Ms. Foundation for Women; and
            (3) acknowledges the Ms. Foundation for Women as a national 
        leader in the fight for equality and justice for all.
