 Mr. Ellzey submitted the following resolution; which was referred to 
 the Committee on Homeland Security, and in addition to the Committees 
 on the Judiciary, and Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently 
   determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such 
 provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

                               RESOLUTION


 
     Condemning the recent attacks on U.S. Immigration and Customs 
  Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Law Enforcement 
                       personnel and facilities.

Whereas the mission of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is to protect 
        the United States through criminal investigations and by enforcing 
        immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety;
Whereas the mission of U.S. Customs and Border Protection is to protect United 
        States citizens, safeguard our borders, and enhance the Nation's 
        economic prosperity;
Whereas both agencies play critical roles in detecting and disrupting terrorist 
        threats, combating transnational crime, and securing the homeland;
Whereas, on July 4, 2025, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's 
        Prairieland detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, was violently 
        attacked by approximately a dozen assailants who fired dozens of rounds 
        and fireworks at the facility, leaving 1 law enforcement officer with a 
        gunshot wound to the neck;
Whereas, on July 7, 2025, the U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande Valley sector annex 
        in McAllen, Texas, was attacked by an individual who shot at Border 
        Patrol agents and other personnel, resulting in 1 McAllen police officer 
        and 2 Border Patrol personnel sustaining injuries;
Whereas, on July 15, 2025, an illegal alien in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 
        attempted to flee the scene after being pulled over by U.S. Immigration 
        and Customs Enforcement officers, injuring a Federal officer who was 
        trapped in the door of the vehicle and subsequently dragged down the 
        road;
Whereas, on August 20, 2025, a group of rioters assaulted, grabbed, punched, and 
        pepper sprayed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel in San 
        Francisco, California, with 1 assailant slashing the tire of a 
        government vehicle and threatening to stab a law enforcement officer;
Whereas, on August 25, 2025, an individual walked to the entrance of a U.S. 
        Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, Texas, and told 
        officials he had a bomb in his backpack, showing what he claimed to be a 
        detonator;
Whereas, on September 24, 2025, a sniper opened fire on a U.S. Immigration and 
        Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas, Texas, shooting 
        indiscriminately at law enforcement and detainees, ultimately striking 3 
        detainees, 2 of whom were killed and 1 critically injured;
Whereas, on September 27, 2025, 4 individuals assaulted Federal officers working 
        outside of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in 
        Chicago, Illinois, where 2 of these individuals possessed loaded 
        firearms, and another threatened to kill a Federal agent;
Whereas, on October 4, 2025, U.S. Border Patrol agents were ambushed in Chicago, 
        Illinois, by assailants who rammed their vehicle into the agents and 1 
        of the attackers, who has a history of doxxing Federal agents, was armed 
        with a semiautomatic rifle;
Whereas, on November 8, 2025, U.S. Border Patrol agents in Chicago, Illinois, 
        were boxed in by a hostile crowd and took on gunfire and afterward 
        bricks and a paint can were thrown from roofs, damaging Border Patrol 
        vehicles and threatening the physical safety of officers and agents;
Whereas, throughout the country, several Federal agents and officers engaged in 
        immigration law enforcement activities have been forcibly attacked, 
        assaulted, and injured by assailants, including transnational gang 
        members; and
Whereas according to the Department of Homeland Security, there has been a 
        1,000-percent increase in assaults on U.S. Immigration and Customs 
        Enforcement personnel and an 8,000-percent increase in death threats 
        against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement law enforcement 
        officers: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) strongly condemns any act of violence against U.S. 
        Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border 
        Protection personnel, facilities, and detainees;
            (2) thanks the men and women of these agencies for their 
        commitment to carrying out their vital mission and keeping our 
        communities and Nation safe; and
            (3) honors their courage and steadfast service as they 
        stand on the front lines defending the United States and 
        upholding the oath they swore to protect and serve.
