A bill to amend the act of October 27, 1965, to change the procedure prescribed for local interests for making local contributions for the cost of the work and to amend the responsibility for operation and maintenance of the navigation structures required for the project for hurricane-flood protection on Lake Ponchartrain, La.

Provides that local interests, under the Flood Control Act of 1965, shall pay one-third of all required non-Federal costs for hurricane-flood protection on Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana, during the period of project construction. States that the cost of maintaining and operating project navigation structures shall be a Federal expense.
