A bill to amend the retirement provisions of title 5, United States Code, to include as creditable service for purposes of the civil service retirement system certain periods of public-school service outside of the Canal Zone by individuals who become subject to such provisions for public-school service within the Canal Zone.

Amends the Civil Service retirement provisions to include, in computing the length of service of an individual employed in the Canal Zone public schools, up to ten years of such individual's service in U.S. public schools. Stipulates that an individual's Civil Service annuity will be reduced by the amount received under any other Federal, State, or municipal retirement system. Requires individuals to deposit in their retirement accounts a specified percentage of their basic pay based on their credited service.
