Prohibits a Federal agency from fixing the maximum age limit for original appointments to a position as a law enforcement officer whose duties primarily involve detention activities at less than 40 years of age.
Increases from 55 to 60 years the age at which such an officer who is eligible for immediate retirement must be separated from the service.
