Sets forth procedures for the replacement of a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate who dies or is disqualified when, under the Constitution, the President and Vice President are to be selected by the House of Representatives and the Senate, respectively.
Declares that a Presidential candidate who dies or is disqualified shall be replaced by the person who received a majority of votes for Vice President from electors who voted for such Presidential candidate. Requires such person to designate a new Vice Presidential candidate.
Requires a Vice Presidential candidate who dies or is disqualified to be replaced by a person to be designated by the individual who received a majority of votes for President from electors who voted for such Vice Presidential candidate.
Directs individuals specified by the national committee of a political party to designate the person to replace a Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate if both candidates die or are disqualified.
States that a candidate is disqualified if the candidate: (1) refuses to accept the office involved; or (2) is determined to be constitutionally ineligible for the office involved.
