Campaign Contributions Act of 1979 - Amends the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to prohibit contributions by certain multicandidate political committees to candidates or their authorized political committees in elections for Federal office.
Redefines "multicandidate political committee" as a political committee which has received contributions from more than 50 persons and is not an authorized political committee of a candidate for Federal office.
Permits contributions totaling not more than $5,000 to candidates for election to the House of Representatives by the National Republican Congressional Committee or the Democratic National Congressional Committee, or the national committee of a political party.
