Declares that whenever any Federal firefighter files a claim for worker's compensation for heart trouble, pneumonia, or a hernia, such injury shall be presumed to have been proximately caused by such firefighter's employment if such injury developed after the firefighter became so employed, unless the Secretary of Labor establishes another cause of such injury.
Allows a former firefighter or his or her beneficiary to claim compensation for such an injury developing up to a maximum of five years after the firefighters last day of employment.
