Provides for the establishment of a National Office for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers within the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, with responsibility for the coordinated administration of all of the programs of that Department serving migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Sets forth the functions of such Office.
Authorizes the appropriation of such sums as may be necessary to carry out this Act.
Directs the Secretary to appoint a special task force on migrant and seasonal farmworkers which shall conduct a continuing study and investigation of the needs and problems of migrant and seasonal farmworkers in the United States and of methods for meeting those needs and solving those problems, giving particular emphasis to the early development of a single comprehensive Federal program designed to assist migrant and seasonal farmworkers.
