Schoolbus Safety Act - Directs the Secretary of Transportation to establish standards which require schoolbuses be equipped with seat backs of sufficient height and design to prevent, to the extent possible, any injury to each seated passenger and the driver. Makes standards applicable to buses manufactured after June 30, 1972.
Authorizes the Attorney General to commence a civil action in the United States district courts to obtain a temporary or permanent injunction restraining any person from violating the Act. Authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to make grants to nay State or political subdivision thereof or to any school system to pay all or part of the cost of complying with the Act. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the Act. (Amends 15 U.S.C. 1392, 1395)
