A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to provide that persons convicted of certain violent crimes shall, except in limited circumstances, be denied post conviction bail while awaiting sentencing or disposition of appeals.

Denies persons convicted of violent crimes from post conviction bail while awaiting sentencing or disposition of appeal unless a judicial officer finds by clear and convincing evidence that: (1) such person will not flee or pose a danger to himself or others; and (2) that such appeal raises a substantial question of law or fact which is likely to result in reversal or an order for a new trial. Places the burden of meeting such requirements on the convicted individual.
