Amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to provide that no determination that an individual's disability has ceased shall take effect before the month in which the individual is notified of the determination in writing.
Extends by three months the period during which disability insurance benefits remain payable after a disability ceases.
Permits an individual to elect to continue to receive disability insurance benefits while such individual is appealing a determination that he or she is no longer entitled to such benefits. Provides that if the decision upon such appeal affirms such determination, any disability insurance benefits paid pursuant to such election shall be considered overpayments.
