Amends the Federal Employees Compensation Act to entitle a claimant for death or disability compensation under such Act to interest on any unpaid amount of the claim if the claim is filed properly and payment thereon has not begun within six months after the later of: (1) the date on which the claim is filed; or (2) the date on which continuation of pay is terminated in the case of an employee who has filed a claim for loss of wages due to traumatic injury. Prohibits the payment of such interest to any claimant who has failed or refused to: (1) supply additional information requested by the Secretary of Labor within 45 days after receipt of a request; or (2) submit to medical examination within 45 days after being required to do so.
Provides for one-half of the costs of any interest payments required under this Act to be paid out of the Employees' Compensation Fund.
